Club Fitting: Should you or shouldn’t you?

Everyone always asks me… Is it worth doing a club fitting. I always respond… If you are serious about playing for a long period of time then 100% yes!

Most of the time a club fitting will cost $60-200 depending where and what facility you go to. Make sure if you are getting charged, that the company/facility offers to discount the price of the club purchase by the fitting amount.

Buying golf clubs can seem like a costly purchase… in general terms it is, but you will have these clubs for years… as long as they are properly fit for you. Here are a few things to look for when getting fit:

  1. Choosing a club head that you like to look at and makes it easier to connect with the golf ball

  2. Choosing a club shaft that will suit your swing speed and preferred weight that you would like to hold

  3. Choosing a grip that suits your hand size so you can properly hold the club comfortably

  4. It terms of length and lie angle, let the experts show you how a small adjustment in these areas can make a world of difference

Although most players wouldn’t know what to choose, club fitters are the experts and can show the options and results of each choice.

At golf Heaven Oakville, PXG charges $65 per fitting but will discount that if an order is made. You can also get fit for full Taylor made clubs and Titleist woods for a fee of $50 that will be taken off the price if clubs are purchased.

Do yourself a favour and make sure your investment is warranted by getting a club fitting.
